~A Day at the Zoo~

This past weekend I headed to Nashville to spend the Father's Day weekend with my daddy. We decided to venture out to the zoo on Saturday for some family fun in the sun!

So Mom, Dad, Alicia, Madison, Gigi, and I headed out bright and early to beat the heat. On our way, we ran into some rain, but lucky for us it didn't last long, and by the time we got there it was done. Yay! Bad thing was it was sooooo humid for the remainder of the day! Oh well. We enjoyed our time walking around and watching all the animals.

Ready to go!

Not sure what animal this was, but I love the expression on her face!

She was completely fascinated by this turtle shell.

Here she is with her momma. This was in the meercat exhibit...or as Madison called them the "meer kitty cats". There was a little tunnel that you have to crawl through to get to this observation tower in the middle of the habitat. At dinner that night, we all took turns telling our favorite parts of the zoo. She said that this tunnel was her favorite part! So cute!

Don't you just love the shades? She picked 'em out herself!
On a little drink break we had a nice little conversation about our day so far.

Watching the elephants!

Look how huge that snake is! She love all the reptiles and spiders! Who knew? They pretty much gross me out and make me feel like they are crawling all over me!

This was taken as we were leaving. Papa let her pick out a "special surprise" from the gift shop. She looked pretty thoroughly before picking out her new friend. We can't quite figure out what exactly it is...a lion? a cougar? We don't know. But she named him Simba. She is obsessed with Lion King right now.

She was asleep before we made it to the freeway.

We had splendid day at the zoo! I loved the family time! And I loved spending time with a wonderfully amazing goofy dad and papa!

Happy Father's Day!...a little late!
