~Chicago~

I have a bit to catch you all up on so, there are going to be a few posts today. First lets talk about my trip to Chicago... I made it back from Chicago a week ago now. I have been running a mile a minute since my return. My trip was a blast full of learning, sight-seeing, eating, laughing, driving, and everything in between. Chicago was a really fun city and I would love to go back. We...

  • made the 9 hours car drive there and back without any accidents, tickets, or other mishaps.

  • ate at a BYOB sushi restaurant. Yep, you bring your own drinks. Very cool.

  • being the poor graduate students that we are, we crammed 5 grown women + all of our luggage into one little bitty hotel room for 5 days.

  • went to the audiology convention 3 out of the 5 days, complete with classes, meetings, food, massages, and other fun activites.

  • attended 2 parties that were put on by hearing aid manufacturers, that included a concert by Collective Soul, all-you-can-eat food, open bar, and a blues/jazz concert.

  • made sure we got some good Chicago style pizza.

  • experienced every public transportation option Chicago had to offer: cab, bus, the "L", and of course, by foot.

  • did a bit of shopping

  • went to the 95th floor of the John Hancock building to see the city. It doesn't cost anything to go up, but it is expected that you will buy a drink. Little did we know that drinks were $20 a pop! Oh well, it was fun!

  • while out and about sight-seeing, we had to use the restroom so bad. There were no public restrooms anywhere! We had to buy a smoothie somewhere, that we did want, just to use their restroom.

We had a blast! Now that I am back, I have a list a mile long of things to do before summer hits!
